Chapter 6: A New World - Part Two

“It was delicious,” said Wenden, “but what is blood work.”

“I took a small amount of blood from your body with that needle before, and I have a machine that can analyze the small particles that live in your blood.”

“In my blood!”

“In the blood of all our bodies.”

“I have never heard of such a thing.”

“I’m guessing you’re going to be saying that a lot. Now here, take these pills. Yes, take them and put them in your mouth, and take a sip of this water. That’s it, swallow them down.”

She took another needle and told him to hold still while she injected him with more nutrients. He barely flinched as she did so, leaving her to assume he had a tough life on his planet. Jendi’s plan for him was a sound one.

He got off the bed, put his shirt back on and left the medical bay. After he looked both ways, Enisaw jerked her head in one direction and that is where he went. First knocking on Sevenser’s cabin by mistake, apologizing, he then reached Jendi’s cabin.

“Ah, come in, Wenden,” Jendi said. “Have a seat on that chair over there. How are you feeling today?”

“Mystified,” he said as he sat down.
